Visual side:
Live in Brighton 1972. This live concert footage, which frankly doesn't look so great, offers the boys tearing through two sequences, "Careful With that Axe, Eugene" (1080i; 7:44) and "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" (1080i; 9:13). While the footage itself is grainy and hard to see at times, this concert footage amply demonstrates why Pink Floyd were perhaps second only to The Who in terms of visceral live performance energy.
The Dark Side of the Moon 2003 Documentary (1080i; 25:33). This piece was made to commemorate the 30th anniversary (more or less) 5.1 SACD mix and it features interviews with the surviving members of the band who go into some detail about not just the recording process itself, but this new 5.1 repurposing. Gilmour talks about how all previous releases came from third generation tapes and that the engineers returned to the actual source elements to craft this new 5.1 mix. The guys also discuss Meddle as a stepping stone to Dark Side of the Moon, and how various stresses and strains actually may have helped Roger Waters come up with his evocative lyrics. One of the best segments has Nick Mason describing how he came up with that great sonic montage that presages "Money."
• Concert Screen Films is an interesting compilation of the images that played behind the guys on three tours, the 1974 British Tour (1080i; 16:38), the 1974 French Tour (1080i; 18:33) and the 1975 North American Tour (1080i; 24:06). The British and French Tours contain much of the same material (though then-President Nixon gets a cameo in the French piece), while the North American footage has the most high tech (at least circa mid-seventies) look. Best of all, all of this footage plays to what the guys would have been playing, available in LPCM 2.0 or LPCM 5.1 at 48kHz/24-bit.
